Aurora Aksnes born June 15th 1996 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora occasionally stylized in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 and received great reviews from journalists as well as the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band, for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are two of the artist's most notable covers. Katy Perry, who endorsed the song Runaway through her music, offered her the track a little more attention. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering the piano in the attic of her home, and getting enthralled by the sounds that it made. Her parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as an occupation or pastime but for growth. She began to write with her own music. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. Her decision to begin performing the songs she wrote publicly after her mother suggested that they could help people not be famous with her music but instead help those around them see the importance of their work and how they impact the world. She began playing the piano at the age of six, and began making music at the age of nine. Family members didn't even know about it until she reached 14. Aurora wasn't a dream. The actress claims that she likes making music. For her, music is the most effective way to experience any emotion.
